Welcome to Char and Crust
Hi, I’m Giselle – the heart and hands behind Char and Crust, also known as Chartutu! My journey into the world of food began in 2022, when I started crafting charcuterie boards and sharing dinner videos on TikTok. It was in those moments, arranging cheeses, meats, and homemade spreads, that I discovered the joy of creating something beautiful and delicious. But my passion didn’t stop there. Inspired by my mom, who had her own cooking show, I realized that the kitchen was my happy place – a space where creativity, tradition, and flavor could come together.
Over time, my love for food evolved into an obsession with baking. From the art of sourdough to whipping up homemade butter, cupcakes, and pastries, I fell in love with the process of transforming simple ingredients into something extraordinary. Char and Crust is where I share that love with you. Whether you’re here to find new recipes, join a class, or gather inspiration for your next bake, I’m here to help you build confidence and joy in the kitchen. Sourdough Virtual Class – $75 🖥️🥖
Discover sourdough from the comfort of your kitchen! I’ll ship you a live starter and guide you step-by-step over Zoom through feeding, mixing, folding, shaping, and baking your perfect loaf. Whether you’re a beginner or refining your skills, you’ll leave confident and ready to bake flavorful sourdough.
Classes are available every Tuesday and Thursday between 8 AM - 8 PM PST. Once you book, email me at hello@giisellemarie.com to choose a date and time that works best for you.
What You’ll Need: Bread flour, tools (link emailed to you once you book), and a love for learning.
Sourdough In-Person Class – $150
Experience the joy of sourdough in person! Join me in Los Angeles, California, where I’ll guide you step-by-step through feeding, mixing, folding, shaping, and baking your perfect loaf. Whether you’re a beginner or refining your skills, you’ll leave confident, inspired, and ready to bake flavorful sourdough at home.
